Stellated Dodecahedrons

Stellated dodecahedron

This looks brilliant and when I was printing the sheets out for the pattern I didn’t think it would be very difficult. Oh how I was wrong, I'm going to give it a star rating of 3 because I think it looks brilliant and even though I have found it difficult I have enjoyed the challenge. For me, the most difficult bit was the sticking of the triangle and then what to do to make it into a sphere of spikes, my first attempt broke, oops, my second attempt is shown below and finally third time lucky, it all came together, as you can see in the picture below. This project was good; it’s nice to challenge yourself once in a while.

Nail News

This was a quirky little project which I enjoyed. I’m going to give it a 4 star rating because the instructions were easy to follow and were aided by the step by step pictures. I didn’t have any alcohol rub but just used some whisky that we had lying around the house and that worked just as well. Rubbing and pressing the newspaper onto the nail was a little bit of trial and error as 3 seconds didn’t seem long enough and 5 seconds would start to disturb the nail varnish.  Overall, I thought this was a fun idea and felt groovy with my newspaper nails.

Diamonds Are For Ever

3D paper diamonds

These paper diamonds are a nice little time buster. I am going to give it a 4 star rating because I found the sticking the most fiddly bit as the flaps are a little small (but you could always print the pattern out bigger). The last flap was a bit tricky to stick into place because I didn’t want to squish the diamond. You also need access to a printer for the pattern, I was lucky enough to use my partner’s printer. Overall, I like them and have made a few, lets’ face it, it’s the closes I’m gonna get to a diamond for a long while Haha.

Below are the few that I made. (coming soon)

Spiral Knot Bracelet

macramé: half knot spiral
http://www.minieco.co.uk/macrame-half-knot-spiral-washer-wingnut-bracelet/#

I really enjoyed making this bracelet, it was quick and easy, which is nice for an amateur like me. I found the instructions really easy to follow and it really did only take 10 minutes to make.
I don’t have any criticisms, which is why this crafty creation is getting a massive 5 star rating. The pattern is versatile, I made a key-ring and I made the bracelet without the bolts like in the top picture. Above is the link to the website to make this brilliant bracelet. Below are pictures of the items I made.
